This online class is thorough, easy to understand, hilarious at times, And full of charm. Cannot say enough good things about this course. Well done shelter institute! My lumber mill arrives in two month but my journey to building my family’s home started with taking this course. You truly changed our lives by making something that seemed impossible totally attainable!

This course is the best bang for your buck if your unable to make it to the onsite course. Very informative and a great way to learn.

I’m loving every minute of the course. I thank you for putting together this fantastic journey. It’s hard to be in front of the camera and you guys have done a super job. The comment about the ‘Dad Glasses’ by the guy behind the camera wasn’t really necessary. I doubt anyone is really focused on things like that. I know I wasn’t.

I believe the entire team did an incredible job of breaking down each individual component, and process of building a timber frame structure. It was very easy to follow, the questions I had while watching were anticipated by all the instructors which was very helpful. I think my favorite part about this course is that I get to go back and rewatch the videos (I’m watching the course for a second time right now haha). I am a visual learner, so being able to go back whenever I want to refresh on a certain aspect will really help me as time goes on. These courses are really great. As I have initiated my learning on posts and beams timber framing I can't express enough how I am really enjoying these courses, they are simply awesome.

I enrolled in the course as a woodworking/construction technologies instructor looking to do some specific professional development. It has made me want to continue other PD opportunities with Shelter! Maybe next time, I can smell the sawdust in person! Great job!

This class was packed with useful knowledge while still being clear and concise. It uses a very practically sized example structure and covers the entire process. Well worth the money and time. Very well done for an online version of such a hands on subject.

The content of the class is absolutely clear, easy to follow, very detailed. There was nothing missing for me to follow the path to build my own 24x24 Timber Frame. I appreciated there are a lot of videos showing how the tendon and mortise were made from start to finish. That is important, somehow, it puts confidence in me. I thought is going to take forever to chisel one out, but is not. With a good tool, it really only takes a few mins. But if I weren't seeing with my own eyes, I would not believe it. My take away is: "Yes, I can do this! "I like they show how to shapen tools. Gaius even so generally throwing in the engineering aspect of it. That is giving us more tools to build what we want. Total a surprise bonus. For me, the best part is the people. These folks are so genuine and lovely besides their excellent skills. I found myself cherish their success, laugh with their fun as they are my family. I don't do that often. You like the instructor for your class, that makes so much more enjoyable. Thank you so much for putting this class together. Money is well spent. I feel lucky, thank you thank you!
